Year 10 Learners Explore Careers During Work Experience Week and Careers Fair

We have been introducing our Year 10 learners to the world of work with our insightful Careers Fair and fascinating week of work experience.

Our learners had the opportunity to speak with a variety of local employers and colleges at the careers fair including the NHS, Roch Valley Radio, the University of Law, HM Revenue and Customs. Hopwood Hall College, No Fuss IT and many other excellent providers.

Learners explored a wide range of career opportunities and pathway options including sixth-form college, apprenticeship placements and university.

Our learners also had the wonderful opportunity to have a week of work experience with local employers. Placements covered a wide range of sectors including education, local government, retail, healthcare, financial services and transport.

Learners were immersed in the work environment, communicating with a variety of stakeholders including colleagues, customers, clients and pupils. Across the week, they developed a variety of new skills from professional communication and time management to leadership and teamwork.

We received lots of wonderful feedback from the employers who were generous enough to offer work placements to our learners.

Over the week of work experience, learners got involved with a wide range of tasks within their roles including working with children, caring for patients, organising activities, attending meetings, and completing administrative tasks.

The feedback we received from our learners was wonderful and we are really proud of their professional conduct and enthusiasm to be immersed in the world of work.

Thank you so much to all of the employers, local businesses and organisations who connected with our learners at our Careers Fair and gave such valuable experiences to our learners during their work placements.
