Year 8 Gateway Trip
Year 8 learners visited Manchester University to participate in a gateway event, to teach them about life at University. They learnt about travelling to university from home or moving out to live on campus, the many different courses available across the UK (65,000 in total and 400 at Manchester University) and kick-starting their plans for University.
Learners also engaged in various activities throughout the day such as penning their own dream university courses (what the course was about, how long it would last and where it would take place), getting to know the student representatives of Manchester University and what courses they did, and pointing out and discussing the differences between school and university.
Learners had fun and were engaged throughout the day, representing themselves and the school extremely well, and displaying our CHANGE values.
