Houses of Parliament Visit
On the 15th April we took a group of 30 Year 11 GCSE Citizenship learners on an educational trip to the Houses of Parliament. The purpose of the trip was to improve their knowledge and understanding of the functions of parliament and gain an insight of the inner workings of our political and legal systems.
During the trip, learners were given a tour of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and completed a workshop exploring how they as citizens can have an impact within society and create change. After the workshop learners were visited by the local MP for Middleton and Heywood North – Elsie Blundell.
