Hearing Impaired and Deaf Learners Enjoy a Talk from Josh Rutherford

Some of our Hearing Impaired and Deaf learners enjoyed a talk from Deaf adult, Josh Rutherford, who spoke about his diagnosis, experience at school and football coaching career. Josh had a captive audience of 9 learners who really benefited from hearing his wonderful success story.

Josh shared his experience of having had a hearing impairment since birth and the breadth of technological changes which have impacted his life. Learners asked insightful questions about his career journey into football coaching and the support he received throughout his education. He also shared some really useful information about disability football groups.

Thank you Josh for sharing your experience with our learners – you are a real inspiration!

Learners can see other fantastic examples of successful Deaf adults on the noticeboard in the HIRB – be sure to check it out!
