Careers Fair 2021
Here at MMHS we are committed to providing an effective careers education programme to help prepare our students for their chosen career path. As they progress through the school, students are increasingly encouraged to take opportunities to add to their skills and experience in ways that will prepare them for the future.
We offer students the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths and support them in their decision making through individual advice and guidance.
Our annual Careers Fair was a huge success and included the following organisations:
| Myerscough College | Centre for land-based, science, engineering and sports education. Based near Preston in Lancashire |
| Bury College | Is an institute of higher learning for ages 16+ offers a wide range of subjects from A-Level, BTEC ,T levels and diplomas. |
| Hopwood Hall College and University Centre | Offers vocational further education courses including T Levels and Higher Education courses from two campuses in Middleton and Rochdale |
| Rochdale Sixth Form College | Very popular local college .Offers a variety of “A” levels . |
| Oldham College | Offer a variety of courses Hair & Beauty , Construction Accountancy etc. |
| Oldham Sixth Form College | Offers a range of courses :“A” Level, Vocational, “T” Level and Blended courses if you like a mix of exams and coursework |
| Holy Cross Sixth Form College | Offer a wide range of “A” Level subjects. |
| Access Creative College | Industry led, creative college with music, games, media and software courses in Manchester( and other areas ) |
| Manchester Higher | Thinking about University ? Discover the many different courses available |
| Greater Manchester Police | Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is the territorial police force responsible for law enforcement within the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester |
| The British Army | The Army protects the United Kingdom’s interests at home and abroad, providing a safe and secure environment in which all British citizens can live |
| The NHS | The National Health Service is the UKs biggest employer, offering many different careers |
| Crystal Doors | Crystal Doors manufacture bespoke vinyl wrapped doors and accessories for Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom retailers . They are passionate about the environment and have continued to achieve many environmental awards. |
| Weir Pumps | Global market leader providing technology and services which make mining operations more productive and profitable. |
| H Bell & Sons | Rochdale based building contractor |
| Michael John Hairdresser | A multi-award winning training provider |
| Not so secure | Specialist IT security firm delivering high-end IT security consultancy and training. |
| PLP Construction | Building refurbishment and new build projects for Local Authorities, Housing Associations. |
| Alternate States | Offers unique VR experiences with state-of-the-art VR technology Alternate States is all the more remarkable for being the brainchild of 21-year-old business graduate Jake White. |
| Rochdale Borough Housing | Provides affordable housing across the Rochdale area. Have numerous career paths within this sector |
| Norton Grange Mercure Hotel | This is a 4-star Hotel and Spa offering Conference facilities for business as well as catering for Weddings etc Careers within the hospitality sector include : Chef, Housekeeping Reception , Managerial roles and many more |
| NCS | The National Citizen Service is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 16–17 year olds in England and Northern Ireland, funded largely by money from the UK Government |
| Rochdale Football Club | Work in partnership with local and national providers, providing trainee and apprenticeship provision which offer formal qualifications whilst you learn the trade. |
| RAF | The Royal Air Force gives you opportunities you won’t find in any other career. The experience you gain with us will equip you to work at the top of your field, both in the UK and overseas |
