BBC Bitesize’s Schools Tour
The BBC Bitesize Schools Tour returned to MMHS and inspired our learners about opportunities that exist in their area and raising awareness of the different career pathways available.
Radio 1 DJ, Fee Mac, hosted the event and interviewed three different professionals who then shared their experience with our Year 7, 8 and 9 learners.
The three guest included Jay Chauham ( Apprentice BBC Sports Producer ) Richard McEvoy-Crompton ( Model maker for Dr Who) and Frankie Wolfe ( TV Producer working with Ant & Dec).
The guests outlined their own different routes into their careers, highlighting a variety of topics such as relevant qualifications, personal anecdotes, advice on work experience and key soft skills for the workplace. They also also gave practical advice on how our learners could pursue a career in a variety of settings.
Their stories were especially significant to our Year 9 learners who soon will be choosing their GCSE Options.
