Getting the Girls in Construction
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, MMHS learners were involved in a “Girls in Construction” event.
Jayne Greaves from JG Training joined Louise Scott and Joanne James from Local Companies H Bell & Sons and PLP Construction. Highlighting the real benefits that Apprenticeships offer such as work experience and regular pay for their work, as well as the wide scope of professions the construction sector has to offer.
The main part of the event saw the learners working together in groups to build not one but TWO 4 metre (12 feet!) high Tetrahedrons, out of wooden sticks and rubber bands; using their team building and constructive skills.
