Year 7 CHANGE learners have been studying the brain to understand how it works and how mindsets are an important factor for success.
As part of the study, our learners attended an expert presentation from a member of our Science team (thank you Ms King!), who performed a dissection of a sheep brain! Whilst the dissection was taking place, our learners asked questions and gained valuable insight into the extraordinary components of the brain.
These insights link to theories from Carol Dweck, who is an American psychologist that developed the terms “fixed and growth mindset”. Mindset is a key component that is delivered to our learners, which promotes purposeful practice to help them develop skills and knowledge.
