At Matthew Moss we encourage our learners and staff to use environmentally friendly methods of traveling to and from school.
This could be car sharing, cycling or taking a bus rather than individual cars where possible.
Is my child eligible for a free bus pass?
If you will be using public transport you should apply for an Igo Pass, you can get an application form from a TfGM Travel shop.
The pass costs £10 and lasts until 31 August after your child’s 16th birthday.
Once your child has an Igo pass they will be eligible for:
- Concessionary fares on Greater Manchester buses, trams and trains
- System One Junior products
- Smart ticketing on trams and buses. Visit getmethere.com to find out more
Information about bus passes can be found on the Transport for Greater Manchester website.
School Bus Service
The school bus number is 818. The route has been updated to match the postcodes of many learners in school.
The bus operator is Stott’s.
Children will be able to buy a TfGM school weekly ticket costing £7.30 (returns will also be available) which will be valid on both the morning and afternoon trips.
This ticket is only valid on school buses so anyone who wants the option to use both the 471 and the 818 will still need to buy a System One ticket.
