Hello and welcome to Matthew Moss High School. 

This page is aimed to inform new parents and students about our school community. 

If you have received a letter from us asking you to complete the admissions form, please do so by filling in the following forms:

  • clicking here if your child is currently in Year 6 and will be joining us as a Year 7 in September. 
  • clicking here if your child is joining us from another school part-way through the academic year.

If your child was entitled to a Free School Meal in primary school (as of the 1st April 2018) you don’t need to do anything, their eligibility will transfer automatically - no paperwork needed.
If you would like to make a new claim for free school meals or check your child's eligibility, please complete the 'Free School Meals Application Form' on the Watergrove Trust website.

If you think you MAY be eligible please apply, this brings extra funding to school that can be used to your child’s benefit. Please complete the form linked above or contact school and speak with our finance team who are happy to help.

Changes to the Published Admission Number (PAN)

On 30th January 2020, Matthew Moss High School's Governing Body agreed to increase the number of admissions for learners starting in Year 7 in September 2020 to 260.  This is for the academic year 2020-2021.

From September 2021 the number of admissions will be 240.

Admissions Statement 2020-2021

Matthew Moss High School is an 11-16 secondary school within the Watergrove Trust.  As an Academy, the Academy Trust is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions.  The co-ordination of admissions arrangements is undertaken by Rochdale Local Authority including any Admission Appeals.

The Governing Body has agreed to increase the admissions number from 240 to 260 for one academic year (2020-21).  In September 2021 the number of admissions will be 240.
