Our Learning for Life days always offer a wide range of activities to our learners, and provide expert advice on topics that are not always covered directly in the curriculum.
A team from the National Enterprise Challenge are working with our Year 9 learners today who are promoting the spirit of entrepreneurialism and transferrable skills with a focus around football. The winning team will be taken to Wembley stadium to compete in the finals.
A quote from the National Enterprise Challenge website:
We aim for all students to be the best they can be, the challenge promotes equality and is suitable for all ability levels.
Other areas of the school focussed on healthy lifestyles which included hundreds of students taking part in Joe Wick's Body Coach programme. After the workout our students enjoyed watching a production from the wonderful Mad Theatre Company who performed a powerful play, Black Eyes & Cottage Pie, that covers a number of issues including abuse and controlling behaviour in young peoples relationships.
Our Year 8 CHANGEMaker groups started working on their learning blogs, and other students learnt about the effects of drugs and alcohol - our students particularly enjoyed wearing the "beer goggles".
What a great day, and thank you to everyone who made it possible.
