Matthew Moss is very proud to announce our new, and wonderful, Reading Room. What is this room of reading? Ms Holding will explain...
"Last summer I learnt that the library was to move from it's home on the ground floor, to accommodate the team teaching room, especially while we have our new build done, I set to work to ensure that reading stays as vital at Matthew Moss and as relevant. I came up with a plan for multiple libraries (I'd like some more yet!) which focused on different areas of literacy.
We were given the C floor open space, and it was logical to make that non fiction, with the proximity to science etc. We (me/site team) then set about transforming a classroom into a comfortable, inspiring fiction reading room. Some painting was done as part of year 10 work experience with learners and the room took shape!
Learners in year 7/8/9 are having fortnightly reading lessons in there as part of English, and we're hoping that in the future it will be open at social times also."
Have a look at the photos in our gallery below to see just how great the room looks.
