Learners in Years 9, 10 and 11 follow a broad and balanced curriculum, which is designed to promote engagement, enjoyment and achievement for all students. The curriculum has been planned to build on prior learning and to develop the skills and understanding to prepare students for further studies and to support their development as responsible citizens in today’s society. Through the options process which takes place in the spring/summer term of Year 8, learners can personalise their curriculum to suit their strengths, personal interests and future aspirations.
In order to meet statutory requirements and to maximise opportunities and options for their futures, learners in Years 9, 10 and 11 study the following subjects:
Humanities (History and Geography)
Modern Foreign Language (French or Urdu)
The learners also do two options from the following:
|Fashion and Textilies||Health and Social Care|
|Food and Catering||Music|
The majority of our learners work towards obtaining French, Urdu, History or Geography through Ebacc, although a small number of learners are offered the opportunity to follow an alternative course of study.
Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Citizenship are delivered through our form time curriculum to all Key Stage 4 learners.
